FreeThe aim of this research was to explore the question; How do parents experience the role of advocating for their child’s Autism assessment?
Parents were recognised as narrators rather than participants as a narrative thematic analysis approach was adopted. Sub themes related to advocating include;
- challenging professionals/systems
- fight
- waiting
- concern dismissed
- education/experience and evidence
