DESCRIPTION:CPD Overview\nEnhancing a child or young person’s experience of learning can be challenging. It can be difficult to know when to intervene and how to do so in a way that supports and develops the child’s learning and not just completing the task. \n‘Mediating learning’ describes the interaction between an adult and a learner when learning. During this interaction the adult intends to improve the thinking and learning potential of the child or young person (the learner). Mediating is about adjusting this interaction to maximise the chance of the learner using and applying their thinking skills both in the moment and in future learning situations. Mediating often also involves adjusting the learning task to support the learner’s engagement. \nThis webinar will share the psychology of mediating in an accessible manner. Since then Mary has worked as an EP in Bristol City Council.
