SUMMARY:Resiliency enabling approaches for children and young people with trauma (April 2020 start)
DESCRIPTION:Six session: \n\nThursday 23 April\nThursday 7 May\nThursday 21 May\nThursday 04 June\nThursday 18th June\nThursday 2nd July\n\nSummary\nThe REACH course is a six session\, educational psychologist developed and led training programme delivered in ‘bite-size’ pieces\, equipping practitioners with the psychological knowledge and skills they require to embed effective trauma informed\, resiliency enabling approaches in their schools. \nThe REACH programme aims to support school staff to recognise and more effectively respond to students who have had experiences of trauma or adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Each aspect of the curriculum is designed to support adults working in schools and other settings to prevent\, mitigate and reduce trauma-associated symptoms through evidence-informed practices\, leading to improved student academic\, behavioural\, and socio-emotional outcomes\, as well as increased long-term resilience. \nWho Would Benefit?\nThe course is essential learning for any professional working with children and their wider families in schools\, nurseries and specialist services\, as well as those in social care\, health and early help. \nThis course aims to be a cost-effective way for staff to access the key knowledge and skills they need to become more trauma informed in the way they work and is a must for any setting wishing to enable the resiliency potential of every vulnerable child and young person. \nA ‘train the trainer’ option for Educational Psychologists from other counties is available.
