DESCRIPTION:Supervision is a critical component of safe and effective practice across the human services. It is essential in ensuring a containing and reflective space for practitioners to acknowledge and process the sometimes stressful\, uncomfortable and indeed painful experiences of working with children\, young people\, their families and the systems around them. This 4-day course aims to ensure all participants understand the importance of participation in ethical and anti-discriminatory supervision across their career\, and in making use of various supervisory models to reflect on and review practice. DESCRIPTION:Circle Solutions is an evidence-based framework for social and emotional learning based on the ASPIRE principles of Agency\, Safety\, Positivity\, Inclusion\, Respect and Equity. \nIt grows ’solutionaries’ – kids with answers to things that matter. This includes building a positive emotional climate for learning. \nSchools using Circle Solutions are finding this is an effective way of encouraging students to take responsibility for the emotional climate of their classroom\, and is therefore an excellent way to stop bullying behaviours and increase engagement. The framework is appropriate for all ages. This workshop is interactive\, experiential and playful. Participants will learn the research evidence that underpins this approach and understand how it enhances both behavioural and learning outcomes.

SUMMARY:Combining dynamic assessment and video-enhanced feedback
DESCRIPTION:This two-day workshop is designed to develop educational psychologists’ skills in using video-enhanced feedback as a means of feeding back the results of dynamic assessment in such a way as to promote the effectiveness of a subsequent intervention plan. This workshop will consider this unique combination of dynamic assessment and video-enhanced feedback using real-life case studies as a basis for practical activities. The training is suitable for those new to dynamic assessment as well as those who wish to develop their existing skills further using video and evidence-based outcomes. Practical advice on editing and how to use video-clips for feedback are covered in this training.
