SUMMARY:A cup of PositiviTEA with Max and Fi
DESCRIPTION:A free community group for EPs to connect\, reflect and learn. \nPart 1: ‘Lunch and Learn’ with Max & Fi\n(About 15-20 min) \nMax and Fi will share various psychological models\, resources and ideas to help you feel positive\, purposeful and inspired in your EP career. We draw upon positive psychology\, with the aim of helping you feel motivated\, engaged and purposeful in your EP Career. \nPart 2: Time to connect\n(About 40-45 min) \nCome and find your ‘tribe’ and connect with like-minded EPs. We will organise breakout rooms for small group chats\, reflections and connection-building within the EP community. You might want to share some ideas with others\, find out what others are up to\, make connections and explore possible collaborations. Maybe you’re feeling isolated (easy in this role!) and just fancy some EP company and connection. We will offer some prompts for your chats and do our best to reduce any awkwardness and make it fun and friendly! \nCome with an open mind. Be brave. Be curious. See where the session takes you… \nBring your own lunch and a cup of PositiviTEA. If your cup is feeling a bit empty\, we hope we can fill it during the session* \n*This is a metaphor. No actual tea is included 😉 \nP.s. Sorry this session is not suitable for aspiring EPs . Please do look out for more appropriate events via Twitter.

SUMMARY:Motivational Interviewing Skills Club for EPs (MISC)
DESCRIPTION:MI Skills Club (MISC) is a free community group for Educational Psychologists wishing to practise their Motivational Interviewing skills. \nIf you have already undertaken some training in Motivational Interviewing (at least half a day)\, you are welcome to join our MI Skills Club (MISC)\, which is a free community group for Educational Psychologists wishing to practise their MI skills within a small and friendly group. \nBecause MI is a conversational style\, rather than a discrete skill\, it is not something that can be mastered by attending a one-off training session. While MI is a learnable approach\, it takes practice\, reflection and supervision to improve. Learning MI on your own is hard\, and receiving objective feedback and expert feedback are helpful in developing and maintaining competence in MI (Miller & Rollnick\, 2023). \nCathy Atkinson and Fi Coley\, who are both members of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT)\, are collaborating to build an MI Learning Community for EPs. MINT (2019) defines a learning community as a network of practitioners interested in the same topic\, and the community can serve as both a resource and a forum for developing practice. \nIn each 90-minute online session we will focus on one small aspect of MI (micro-skills practice) and use breakout rooms with small groups to practice skills and give /receive supportive feedback. \nThis event is open to Educational Psychologists\, Trainee Educational Psychologists\, and Assistant Psychologists. We are unable to accommodate aspiring EPs at this event.

SUMMARY:EPs for Material Change: Community Learning Day
DESCRIPTION:Exploring inequality\, psychology and making change.\nEducational Psychologists for Material Change (EPMC) welcomes you to our online event exploring inequality\, psychology and making change. \nEPMC believe that inequality is not accidental; it is produced and reproduced by the systems we live and work within. To end inequality\, material change is needed: a redistribution of wealth\, resources\, and power across society. \nThis virtual Community Learning Day (9 January 2026) invites psychologists to come together to explore the intersections between inequality and psychology. Through dialogue\, critical reflection\, and collective learning\, we will consider how our profession can contribute to genuine social transformation. \nSpeakers (TBC) will include psychologists\, those in education\, and those with lived experience of inequality in all its forms. We are particularly committed to centring marginalised voices and building spaces of solidarity. \nA community event\nThis is a DIY event\, hosted by EPMC without support or funding. The event is based on 3 fundamental principles. \n\nAccessibility for all\nSpeakers are paid for their time\nEquity over equality – giving according to ability\, receiving according to need\n\nTo honour these principles\, the event operates on a “pay what you can” model\, with suggested donations. \n\n£0 – For those facing financial difficulty (we do not want you to donate to the event\, even if you feel compelled to).\n£20 – For those in stable employment (e.g. you are a qualified EP or worker in secure employment)\n£50+ – For those with significant financial security or wealth (e.g you have significant savings/inherited wealth).\n\nWe hope that those who can afford to pay do so\, to enable those who can’t afford to attend for free and support the fair payment of speakers. \nFunds will be transparently managed through Open Collective\, ensuring all income goes directly toward paying speakers and keeping the event cost-neutral. A full financial breakdown will be published after the event. \nJoin us as we reflect\, organise\, and imagine what it means to move beyond awareness toward material change

DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join the authors of Reimaging Education – Maddi Popoola\, Sarah Sivers and Louise McDonagh – to celebrate the publication of their book.\nMaddi\, Sarah and Louise will share the inspiration for writing Reimagining Education and provide a summary of the topics covered. \nDrawing from relational and trauma-informed approaches\, Reimagining Education explores ways to design and sustain a successful school system\, through the eyes and experiences of children and young people. \nChapters consider a range of themes\, from mentally healthy schools to attendance and academic pressure\, to build the vision of a compassionate school where no child is left behind or excluded. SUMMARY:Insights and Solution Circles
DESCRIPTION:Following the overwhelming success of our Spring workshops and in the light of the new White Paper: Every child achieving and thriving – Derek Wilson and Colin Newton co founders of Inclusive Solutions are delighted to announce a new series of online group problem-solving workshops: The Fresh Approach: Insights and Solution Circles \nThis is our most recently evolved problem-solving model—a 50-minute expanded version of the Solution Circle. It integrates the best of the Circle of Adults methodology into a streamlined format that is highly effective for work with professionals. Designed to reduce exclusions and strengthen mainstream inclusion\, this process delves deep into the relational and emotional world of the child while generating very practical\, actionable strategies. Developed by Colin Newton and Derek Wilson (the pioneers behind the Circle of Adults approach)\, the Insights and Solution Circle is a high-impact\, 45- 60-minute problem-solving framework designed to get teams “unstuck.” While many professional meetings focus on “fixing” a person or a problem\, this approach focuses on understanding and community. It is the perfect “middle ground” for teams who need more depth than a quick Solution Circle but don’t have the 90 minutes required for a full Circle of Adults. Using the signature Inclusive Solutions methodology\, the process follows a disciplined\, graphic-led sequence. Rooted in the values of inclusion and person-centered planning\, these circles are more than just a meeting—they are a way of building team resilience. \nWorkshop Dates \n14th April – 2:00pm – 4:00pm \n17th April – 8.30am – 10.30am \n13th May – 4:00pm – 6:00pm \n19th May – 10am – 12 Noon \nAll sessions delivered live online. \nPricing \n£85 + VAT per session; Early bird: £68 + VAT (available until 15 days before each workshop); Bundle of all four workshops: £225 + VAT; 50% Reduction for Students\, Assistant and Trainee EPs \nOptional Add-Ons \n20-minute follow-up consultation: £65 + VAT; Circle of Adults book: £15 (no VAT) \n
