SUMMARY:EP Inclusion Community (EPIC)
DESCRIPTION:The EP Inclusion Community (EPIC) is a free\, open group for anyone in the Educational Psychology community with an interest in the EP role in supporting\, promoting\, and developing inclusive practice in schools. The group aims to strengthen the EP voice in national and local discussions around inclusion and to share approaches that enhance inclusive practice in education settings. \nEPIC is facilitated by Ali Carr\, Specialist EP for Inclusion and Belonging and creator of the BASE Model of Inclusion (Belonging and relationships\, Autonomy\, Sense of Safety\, Equity) – a holistic\, evidence‑informed framework positioning the school as an inclusive ‘base’ for its whole community. \nThis two‑hour online session is the second meeting of the EPIC community. The focus will be on co‑producing an EPIC community response to the SEND Review consultation\, building on recent national developments including the publication of Putting Children and Young People First. As part of EPIC’s ongoing plan to meet quarterly\, each session will also feature brief knowledge‑sharing from members of the community on inclusion‑related topics. \nThe group is open to all Educational Psychologists\, Trainee EPs\, and Assistant EPs working in the UK.
