DESCRIPTION:Aim\nThe aim of this webinar is to introduce psychologists (and others) to important concepts around accessibility on the web\, given that psychologists are creating more web content than ever before. This has particularly been the case since the start of covid restrictions in March 2020. \nThis is important for Psychology Services as: \nPeople may not have a choice when using a public sector website or mobile app\, so it’s important they work for everyone. The people who need them the most are often the people who find them hardest to use.  \n(Gov.uk\, 2018\, Understanding accessibility requirements) \nWho is this webinar for?\nThis webinar is for anyone creating content for the web. For example\, \n\nAnyone creating something that others will see on a screen\nAnyone creating content in visual\, audio or video formats\nPsychologists\, assistant psychologists or administrative support staff who create or put content on the web\nThose working in psychology services where resources are being created for clients and then shared online\nThose writing articles or posts designed to support others\nThose who use social media in any professional capacity\n\nIntended learning outcomes\nBy the end of this webinar you will be able to \n\nUnderstand what accessibility is and why it is important\nRecognise the ethical and legal imperative for accessible digital content\nBegin to critically assess the accessibility of your own content\nCreate more accessible content\nKnow where to go to find more help and advice\n\nBooking\n \n\n \nWho is running this webinar\nRichard West\nRichard is digital lead for edpsy. He has worked in web and digital for 20 years\, supporting LAs\, councils\, charities and government to enhance the experience for their users and clients. Richard has run training for over 100 organisations. He has spoken as sector conferences including IWMW\, DigiFest as well as speaking at TedX Jisc. \nDr Dan O’Hare\nDan is the founder of edpsy\, an online magazine for EPs that now has a global reach. He is passionate about communicating educational psychology and making psychology accessible. He has contributed to print\, radio and TV media and run trainings supporting EPs to think about dissemination\, communication and social media.
