Dr Kirsty Evans

Areas of interest I would like to offer mentoring in

I could best support those who seek variation in their role as an EP and are interested in working at multiple levels; with pupils, staff, leaders, parents and at the organisational level. I have a unique perspective linked to my roles in special schools and alternative provisions.

About me

Current role: Educational Psychologist

HCPC number: PYL34027

I have keen interests in EBSA, pupil voice and participation, relational approaches, organisational psychology and positive psychology.

I have 3 different roles as an EP. I work in a special school for pupils with moderate learning needs. In this role I undertake casework, support systemic and individual development through training, coaching and supervision. I work in an alternative provision for one day per week where I support pupils with emotionally based school avoidance and provide coaching and support for teachers and leaders. I am also an associate EP for one day peer week with a primarily casework focus.

I have planned and carried out research, supervising an assistant psychologist and a wellbeing practitioner around belonging, post 16 transition and sensory needs. I conducted research previously on pupil voice, female health and staff diversity.

I have provided supervision and coaching over time to trainees, an assistant psychologist, a wellbeing practitioner and many teachers.

I have gained the IAFPD Certificate in Coaching and the IAFPD Primary Certificate in Positive Psychology Coaching. I have undertaken school based research and have presented at conferences and webinars including DECP and AEP about the findings from pupil voice research, photo voice methodology, belonging and working with organisations. I have also written articles for edpsy.
