Post pandemic anxiety in autistic children and young people
- This event has passed.
The COVID-19 pandemic caused massive disruption to all our lives This has had a particular impact on the lives of Autistic children and young people (CYP). As things return to a ‘new normal’, many educationalists and parents are reporting that there continue to be major concerns about Autistic CYP in terms of emotional well-being, high anxiety levels, non-attendance, educational progress and the well-being of school staff.
This online Study Morning has been organised by the Educational Psychology Autism Special Interest Group (EP-ASIG). The keynote speaker is Professor Liz Pellicano, University College London, whose research has sought to understand and investigate the perspectives and experiences of al group of Australian children and their parents and to consider how some of the more positive aspects of the experience might inform a way forward for those working with such CYP.
Liz will talk about research on the experiences of Autistic students and parental experiences during the pandemic and there will be an opportunity for questions.
