An introduction to using solution focused approaches with children
- This event has passed.
“With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.” ― Eleanor Roosevelt.
If you work in education, you will know how important positive feedback can be for children in developing their confidence and self-esteem. However, if we are to empower children to truly identify with their personal strengths, skills and positive behaviours, we need to go a step further by helping them to reflect on what they are doing to make the good things happen – We need to get children Working On What Works (WOWW).
In this session Dr David Lamb (Educational Psychologist) will demonstrate how to have WOWW conversations with children using solution-focused approaches to help them become more self-aware and better problem-solvers, whilst enabling adults to learn what we need to do to support them in their education.
This session is suitable for anyone working closely with children and young people. By attending you will gain the tools to engage in supportive, meaningful interactions to help children see that small changes can lead to big changes, that they have personal resources to resolve difficulties and cope with situations in their lives, and that there are always times when the ‘problem’ is not happening.
We look forward to welcoming you to the session.
