Course for embedding EDI supervision models for applied psychologists

February 22 - 10:00 to 12:00

£900

An interactive course for supervising psychologists focussed on embedding EDI models and frameworks into practice to ensure inclusivity.

We are excited to offer an online, outcome-based course for supervising Educational, Clinical and other applied psychologists who want to proactively embed the revised HCPC Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) standards of proficiency[1] centrally within their practice.

Course objectives

1. To understand EDI-focused supervision models and develop skills and competencies related to these.
2. To think about how you acknowledge and validate the diverse range of identities and personal attributes of your supervisees [DAC1] [DM2] and clients
3. To consider how to use The Six Stage Framework (Dr M’Gadzah, 2022) as a tool for use in supervision with supervisees and clients
4. To develop and practice reflective skills in addressing and responding to issues linked to discriminatory attitudes and behaviours
5. To support supervisors in becoming more culturally aware and sensitive to the diverse range of identities and needs of their supervisees and clients
6. To further develop and embed anti-racist practice as a practitioner psychologist and consultant

The course will include:
· Six, two hour-long online sessions, offered every six weeks (roughly each half term)
· Opportunities to network and learn with other like-minded psychologists
· CPD certificates upon course completion
· Reflective booklets to keep
· Six Stages Framework Toolkit
· An opportunity to purchase additional one to one EDI-focused supervision outside the course sessions
