Developmental trauma, its impact on identity and how to respond

An interactive afternoon led by Tim Watson exploring the theme of identity with and for educational psychologists. The focus will be particularly in relation to children and young people who have experienced developmental trauma, but not exclusively.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

Consolidate their knowledge about the Poly Vagal theory
Be reminded of the definition and nature of Developmental Trauma
Revisit an understanding of identity development
Explore the importance of sensory integration in identity development
Consider other ideas to promote identity awareness using a range of play-based and drawing resources and activities
Reflect upon their own personal and professional practice.
Be introduced to two approaches in exploring the concept of identity and then practice using them
