EP Inclusion Community (EPIC)
- This event has passed.
The EP Inclusion Community (EPIC) is a newly set up free group for all in the Educational Psychology community with an interest in the EP role in supporting, promoting and developing inclusive practice in schools.
The aim of the group is to promote the role of EPs in supporting inclusive practice and to consider strategies to enhance the EP voice in discussions around inclusion in schools.
Ali Carr is a Specialist EP for Inclusion and Belonging, and the creator of the BASE Model of Inclusion (Belonging and relationships, Autonomy, Sense of Safety, Equity). The BASE model provides a holistic and evidence-based framework centered around the concept of the school as an inclusive ‘base’ for the whole school community.
This 90-minute online session is the first session of this newly created interest group, which is open to all within the EP community. It is planned for the end of January 2026 in anticipation of the release of the SEND White Paper during the month of January, which is likely to place new emphasis on inclusion, belonging, and equity in schools. This session will consider how EPs can be fully involved in this process and will consider next steps for the group.
This group is open to all Educational Psychologists, Trainee Educational Psychologists, and Assistant Educational Psychologists.
