Introducing ACEs and trauma informed practice across services

This masterclass will enable participants from multiple sectors and agencies to recognise that the issues they see in people’s lives, whether health, education, social or criminal justice related, are often rooted in the same Adverse Childhood Experiences -forms of maltreatment, and the associated household and community stressors e.g. parental mental health, substance abuse, and violence in the family and community. Living with ACEs and the associated toxic traumatic stress responses can have life-long impacts on mental and physical health and parenting affecting the next generation.
By attending you will review the way trauma informed practice has been introduced across services, providing up to date information about the of the nature of adversity ACEs and trauma; and the rapidly growing field of PACEs – Positive and Compensatory experiences, which buffer traumatic responses, and their translation into therapeutic interventions.
