Reporting of child sexual abuse is set to become mandatory following the recommendations in the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse. Professionals in positions of trust and in regulated activity with children will have a legal duty to report CSA if they are told about it by the child or perpetrator, if they witness it happening or if they observe ‘recognised indicators’.
The Inquiry reported the scale of the inadequate and negative responses that children and young people have faced upon making disclosures. This conference has been designed to support professionals to identify and respond to child sexual abuse, as early as possible and in an appropriate manner.
