Reducing Exclusions EP Interest Group 2026-27

September 17 - 16:00 to 17:00
Free

Following a fantastic first year, we’re excited to continue our Reducing Exclusions EP Interest Group for EPs, Trainee EPs and Assistant EPs.

The group meets three times a year via Teams. Each session begins with a guest speaker, followed by time for reflection, discussion, questions and sharing practice with colleagues.

Over the past year, we have seen between 25-60 people attend the sessions. The group has provided valuable CPD, opportunities to explore recent research, and a supportive space to connect with others working to reduce exclusions and promote inclusion.

We’re delighted to have our first two speakers confirmed:

🔹 Thursday 17th September 2026 (4.00-5.00pm)
Dr Chizzy Chapman will be sharing her doctoral research exploring the educational experiences of children affected by criminal exploitation, including links with suspension and exclusion.

🔹 Wednesday 13th January 2027 (4.00-5.00pm)
Dr Zoe Owen will present Orienteering without a Compass: An Interactionist Perspective on Pragmatic Language Competence and School Exclusion.

🔹 Tuesday 20th April 2027 (4.00-5.00pm)
We’re hoping to welcome another exciting speaker, with details to be confirmed nearer the time.

We’d love to welcome new members. If you’d like to join us and receive the Teams links, please direct message ellen.quinn@oneeducation.co.uk.

Also, if you’d like to share your research or work in this area, we always welcome people to present and be added to our list of potential speakers for future sessions.
