Therapeutic interventions to address children and young people’s anxiety, depression, trauma and disruptive behaviour: A modular approach

21/07/2020 - 09:30 to 16:30

This masterclass will help practitioners working in social care, health, education and youth justice address the complex needs of an increasing number of children and young people presenting with symptoms of anxiety, mood disturbance, trauma and disruptive behaviour. The stressful and traumatic impact on children and young people’s lives of Covid 19 has increased this need.

There are helpful NICE guidelines on evidence-based therapeutic interventions for single forms of a disorder, but these will not for work with children and young people who present with overlapping problems, e.g. disruptive behaviours, associated with significant mood disturbance and self-harming behaviour. This masterclass will present the Hope for Children and Families (HfCF) innovative approach; the development of a common practice elements approach which identifies evidence-based therapeutic procedures and integrates them into a Library of Modules.
