This study day focuses on the particular challenges experienced by migrant, refugee and asylum-seeking children, young people and their families, and the contingent challenges faced by schools and other community settings in anticipating and meeting so widely divergent a profile of needs.

The agenda includes keynote presentations on understanding trauma and supporting the emotional resilience of refugee and other newly arrived children/young people, and the BPS’ Presidential Task Force ‘Guidance for Psychologists’ in anticipating and responding to the needs of refugees, asylum seekers, and other migrants in the UK. The day will also provide opportunities for lively exchange-based learning about Service developments between colleagues from different work settings around caseload and systemic work relating to this population.
