Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) UK

27/02/2017 - 09:15 to 28/02/2017 - 17:00

An introductory training course in the approach of Video Interaction Guidance (VIG) UK – a respectful, strengths and relationship-based intervention.

Once this 2 day training is completed, a staged programme of supervised practice can be arranged leading to full accreditation as a VIG practitioner

VIG is used by professionals working with parents/carers experiencing communication difficulties with their children, and who wish to develop better relationships with them. It can help parents become more sensitive and attuned to their child’s emotional needs, regardless of the age of the child, or can help teaching staff to become more attuned to their students.

VIG is recommended as an evidence-based intervention for health visitors and midwives in the NICE guidelines ‘Social and Emotional Wellbeing – Early Years’ published October (2012), and in several other NICE guidelines (e.g. Autism 2013, Attachment 2015).
