Areas of interest I’d like to offer mentoring in
I am interested in areas including: meaningful support and supervision; critical and community psychology approaches; meaningful inclusion as well as supporting specialist and special school settings; implications of traumatic life experiences; systemic working; appreciative inquiry; and supporting those who are international new arrivals, seeking sanctuary, or are refugee experienced.
About me
Current roles: Educational Psychologist and tutor on the Educational Psychology programme at Queen’s University, Belfast
HCPC number: PYL29744
I work with the Education Authority in Northern Ireland (NI), and am a tutor on the Doctorate in Educational, Child and Adolescent Psychology (DECAP) programme. I have been with the EA for over 10 years. On the DECAP programme I supervise across the three year groups. I am the Year 2 co-ordinator, and I take a lead role for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion on the programme.
I was born and raised in Northern Ireland in a family and community with a mix of cultural, religious and linguistic diversity, and I have had the privilege of meeting and working with so many people in my role as an EP; this has shaped who I am, and how I am as a psychologist.
I’m keen to learn from others, to develop my cultural humility, and to support others with the same. I am interested in doing my part in supporting the diversification of the profession. When I am not ‘working’, I will be with family and friends, and I will never be too far from a good coffee.
