edpsy: we’re looking for a volunteer to work with us
Over the years edpsy has grown beyond what we initially even imagined. As a result we’re looking for a volunteer to be part of our work.
What we can offer
The role is voluntary in the first instance and we’re also able to offer:

- Mentoring from the edpsy team (we all have different areas of focus and specialism)
- Joining our team days – always in a sustainable, community setting in Bristol, with travel expenses* and lunch
- Opportunity to link with other innovative EP projects and team e.g. EP Reachout
- CPD allowance (CPD relevant to the role)
- Development of digital and web skills e.g. using content management systems
- Attendance at our Festival
- Attendance to any events we host
- Developing skills in accessible communication
- If necessary we’ll also provide a ‘writing for the web’ training
The role
We’re looking for someone who can liaise with blog authors and edit new blog submissions. This includes:
- Accessing our Google Drive where submission are stored
- Editing the blog for accessibility, coherence, tone and readability so that it is ready for web publication
- Uploading the blog to the ‘behind the scenes’ of the website (WordPress) and making it ready for publication
- Liaising with Dan for final checking
- Contacting authors once the blog is live to alert them to this
We’re also flexible – if there are other areas of our work that interest you or where you might want to be involved, this is absolutely something we could consider together.
Who we’re looking for
This voluntary role is available to people who can demonstrate the following:
- Qualified EP or a trainee in their final year
- Energy, passion and commitment to enhancing the visibility of educational psychology research and practice
- Prior experience of writing for a broad audience
- An understanding of and commitment to edpsy’s values
- Familiarity with edpsy
