Portia is a trainee educational psychologist at the University of Southampton and a former primary school teacher and SENCO. Portia is currently interested in the issues around understanding social, emotional and mental health for black and minoritised ethnic groups, and the disparities between access to SEN support and information amongst families born and raised in the UK compared with families who were born and raised in other parts of the world.
