Seán is currently joint-director of the Pillars of Parenting Social Enterprise and a private consultant in child and educational psychology. He was joint-founder of the continuing professional doctorate in Educational Psychology (DEdPsy) at University College London. Seán has spent the past eight years developing a new model of professional childcare, which is based on the concept of ‘Emotional Warmth’ and which enables residential carers and foster/ adoptive parents to meet the parenting needs of children in public care, provide emotional support for developmental trauma, promote self-managed behaviour and build on their character strengths.
