Hassan has been an educational psychologist with the Education Authority in Northern Ireland (NI) for over ten years. He is also an honorary senior lecturer on the Doctorate in Educational, Child and Adolescent Psychology (DECAP) programme at Queen’s University Belfast. He was born and raised in Belfast in a family and community with a mix of cultural, religious and linguistic diversity. Areas of personal and professional interest and experience include critical and community psychology approaches; meaningful inclusion as well as supporting specialist and special school settings; implications of traumatic life experiences; systemic working; appreciative inquiry; and supporting those who are international new arrivals, seeking sanctuary, or are refugee experienced.
